How Your Logo Design Can Impact Your Company and Your Brand

Designing a logo is not as easy as some people deem it to be. Although a few individuals think that a logo can be easily made, and technically it is, what it can do for your brand actually requires that you think more about how to put your logo together. Drawing a logo from off the top of your head can be a hit and miss thing, and your idea can probably work, or it may not. In order to avoid the latter, you need to do a bit of research into what factors can affect your logo design, and by extension, your brand.

Qualities to Consider When Creating a Logo

If you look at some of the logos being used by some of the top companies in the world, you will notice that many of these have specific factors in common. For starters, the logos that they use are simple. The simplicity of the design of these logos makes them very easy to remember. This is another quality that needs to be worked into your logo design – memorability. When your logo design is notable, every time a person sees it, they can easily remember your brand and what it represents.

Another quality that your logo should have is relevance. For your logo to be relevant, it has to be in line with your industry. Your design has to remind people of what your company can do, what you are good at, and why they should come to you for that specific need. That is quite a tall order for something that has to be simple and memorable at the same time, but then again, that is what most of the best logos do after all.

You will also need to ensure that the symbol you use to represent your brand and your company can stand the test of time and is versatile enough to be used for almost anything. Versatility means that your logo can be used on whatever merchandise you feel needs to be used for your marketing purposes, so your logo has to be versatile enough to be enlarged or reduced in size for these things. You also need to ensure that your logo design can be used now and twenty years down the line. Yes, you can tweak it a bit as time moves forward, but if you can keep your logo the same after a few decades and it is still relevant even after such a time has passed, then you have a lasting design.

How to Come Up with a Sterling Logo Design

In order to come up with the best possible logo design for your business, you might want to do some research on color combinations and what these can do for you. Certain colors can incite certain emotions in people, and you can use this color psychology to your advantage. For instance, if you want people to see your brand as exciting and bold, it may help to put some red in your logo. For a cheerful and friendly vibe, orange is a good color to use. To exude dependability, blue has been seen to be the color to use.

Apart from color choices, you should also consider a design that is not cluttered or too busy. You can start with a complex design, if that is what is in your mind, and slowly reduce the clutter from it by removing the “noisy” elements on it. Simple designs make for easy recall, so think in terms of some of the big brands that have simple logos like Nike, Apple, Volkswagen, and Twitter, to name a few.

Don’t give your nod to the first logo design you think is going to work for your company. Have a few options made and see which one best represents your business. Just keep in mind the factors that are needed for a great logo design and tweak your choices until you feel you have the perfect one.
